minus-squareArbiterXero@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up68·vor 2 JahrenI’m showing my age here, but that’s likely dvi, and not serial. 9pin is much smaller and 25pin is significantly larger. But despite my pedantic statement, the joke still stands. Well played.

minus-squareAjen@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up17·vor 2 JahrenDVI-D uses TMDS, which is a serial protocol. So if you want to be really pedantic you could call it a serial port even though it’s not RS232. DVI-A also transmits metadata over a serial connection, but the video signal is parallel analog.

minus-squareEufalconimorphlinkfedilinkarrow-up9·vor 2 JahrenLooks a heck of a lot like the RS-485 serial cable I’ve got on my desk right now. Scale is hard to tell, not sure how big that bowl is.
minus-squareSubverb@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·vor 2 JahrenI thought the same when I saw it. That’s not a DB-9. Harumph!

Oh christ, DVI is old now.

Fair! Neat fact!
