I deleted my avatar a long time ago via the profile settings on my instance. Now I noticed that it’s still visible on other instances.

Unfortunately profile changes do not federate well at all currently. Very inconsistent federation so no proper solution currently. Hopefully this will resolve at the software matures.
Why not upload another avatar? Maybe an empty black square or the lemmy logo?
I’m testing it with a transparent png for now.

You’re probably aware by now but it appears to have changed. I don’t see an avatar for you from my instance (lemmy.world).
Can confirm, looks like there’s nothing there for me, I’m on Kbin.
Because I can’t see the second link, all I’m saying is I see a squirrel pic on the avatar.

I can confirm that from mastodon, your profile pic is not a squirrel, but a default one.I can’t see it
I uploaded a transparent png now, since deleting doesn’t seem to federate.
