Real people use em dashes. I use them regularly and have since I was, like, thirteen years old. Any frequent reader will be familiar and comfortable with them.
How do you type them?
Iām fairly certain Microsoft Word converts normal dashes to emdashes automatically.
On Windows itās Alt + 0151 ā or 0150 for the smaller one ā although thatās slightly different
Usually two hyphens followed by a space, but it depends what youāre using. Could just be two hyphens.
