They originally had a minority of votes but were able to force through legislation that allowed them to do whatever they wanted

Are you trying to make a joke, or do you honestly not understand?

It’s hard to tell these days, but I’m worried you really don’t understand and just doubled down with a “nuh huh” and zero thinking.

You realize the Nazi were German right? They weren’t an outside force. All that genocide and war crimes was done by German soldiers not an army of evil ghosts. Germans don’t get to play the victim because grandpa was a Nazi

The German people weren’t invaded by nazis, they were the nazis, no matter what they say to try and pretend otherwise

It’s important to understand it, because it’s happening again.

The military was all WW1 vets, and as a result of WW1 Germany wasn’t really allowed to have a military anymore and had to pay excess amounts of reparations.

The nazis promised to remilitarize and got all those old vets on their side and put them back in charge. If hitler lost power, they’d be back out the of the military because they’d go back to not having a military.

Now, as time went on they started to draft everyone, even children. But they were trickling into that culture and often didn’t live very long. Zero chance to change the culture.

I get the knee jerk emotional reaction to call them monsters and say the only reason they did monsterous things was because they were always monsters

But that is not only wrong, it’s lulls everyone into a false sense of security. We need to understand how this shit happened last time to stop it this time. And every next time after, it’s a constant fight. And that’s why the reductivist shit you’re saying isn’t just wrong, it’s actively dangerous to society.

They got enough votes, to get Hitler nominated as chancellor. Of courses it wasn’t an absolute majority but still enough. Doesn’t sound like an invasion to me. Or did maga and trump invade the USA? All good people there, then a small margin less than half the country, came from somewhere and supported trump, yeah sure. Hitler then as chancellor used existing legislation like Notstandsverordnungen to solidify and extend his power. Still not an invasion. Narratives like that put the blame of the rise of fascism on external forces, when it’s an internal process.

Fuck off, you just want to argue semantics so you feel better. An invasion of power structures is an invasion, you’re trying to make some essentialist argument that Americans have some inherent, essentialist component that makes them vote for fascists or something, which is far worse than arguing if the term “invasion” is appropriate. Don’t bother replying.
