Whether or not you consider it “disinfo,” doesn’t it smell rather like astroturf? Note that !europe@lemmy.dbzer0.com is one of the targeted communities.

What they seem to have in common is:

  • Way more posts than comments.
  • Almost exclusively posting news articles.
  • The vast majority of the articles are critical of Russia or China.
  • Virtually always posting to the same few communities. Often there’s overlap in the communities the accounts target.
  • Consistent weekly output.

I don’t know if it’s actually the same thing as banning someone or there is some other explanation, but deleting an account like this is really weird.

Also if it isn’t, something about nineteeneightyfour on just completely purging an account, and the ““tankie”” lemmy instances not doing that.

Also well fucking done on the page being literally nothing but “not found”, wow, quality software(/s)

This type of thing only seems to be meant for spammers, it’s effectively the same as being banned with remove all posts, which is an extreme response in my opinion.

I followed up with the admin on the db0 general matrix; they didn’t respond to my dms otherwise.

the reason they gave for the action was because I linked my yptb post in a slop thread

I have a hard time believing it wasn’t reported by the mod that I was calling out. This makes it hard to interpret it any other way than retaliation for calling them out for misogyny.

apparently posting things in hexbear/slop is grounds for a site purge, but an entire hate comm dedicated to other parts of the federation is fine.

for an ‘anarchist queer friendly’ server they seem extremely authoritarian and comfortable with misogyny

Yeah, but at least the remove option still lets your account exist. And instead it’s made clear you have been banned.
