      Thats specular lens flare (ghosting), it looks like multiple little dots here, instead of a larger dot, since the light is partially blocked by tree branches. A lens hood and repositioning the camera are the only ways to prevent these.

        Maybe OP is from Ireland, in which case it is most probably just a fairy.

      I think it must be a speck of something on my lens. There’s a similar artifact on another photo I have from around the same time, in about the same light.

        Better don’t use the camera while committing crimes! ;-)

          Honestly just looks like normal lens flare where the sun is blocked by a tree branch. The flare is lens-dependent, but it’s also dependent on conditions. I doubt one could reliably fingerprint someone based on lens flare unless OP is like one of a few people using this lens
