Slop is meant to be for posts from random internet users or other lemmy instances, not posts from people with actual influence over a significant number of people.

Use /c/popularculture for Hasan or contra or whatever. If the mods there say no contra then that’s the way it is i guess.

Look, we had a ton of arguments about this, and I think the consensus reached by the userbase is that we all want one com for making fun of reactionaries generally, and their posts.
Again, not at all arguing against banning contrapoints posts at all. (Unless she does something REALLY funny, but I doubt that she will)
I was there for the arguments, for the record. As I recall the spilt between slop and pop culture was exactly so you could dunk on celebrities in one comm and dunk on everyone else in another.
What is your recollection of the purpose of the pop culture comm?

I’d argue it’s not about this place being designed for one specific type of post. The point is not every community should necessarily be filled with hecklers. This place is to heckle. Even if the stuff we’re heckling could possibly also be posted somewhere else, it makes sense to have a sanctioned point and laugh zone so there’s at least room for more serious discussion (y’know, in theory)
edit: to be clear I’m fine with banning contrapoints posts, or really anyone who happens to be clogging up the feed at any given time. could always temporarily pin a quarantine post or something to contain it
