    Watched the whole thing.

So, my partner is a strong duetan, and is has been a hindrance in her life for a long time, and she’s trying to get into a career right now that strongly involves colour.

We drove out of our way to “trial” a pair of the glasses, and during the Xmas period, we roamed a Kmart with them on, initially, she said she didn’t notice much difference, but as we roamed more, she said she could see more and more discrepancies, looking at colour palettes, oranges and greenblues. We rented them for half an hour, and she said she loved them, so I bought a prescription pair, and they should be arriving in 3 days. We’ve been super excited to get them, and hope they help with her life, they did cost quite a lot, but we do also have the option of returning them if we feel they don’t work as stated here. But I do believe her that they changed what kinds of hues and the distinctions she saw between them, so I’m still keeping my hopes up, despite watching this video damning them and enchroma to hell and back. I really want to believe they’ll help her out in her life and future career.

I think the main issue is that people expect a magic fix. This is a common problem in the world today. Many things are massively overhyped and then turn out to be a huge disappointment to many people because they are not as perfect as the hype lead them to belive.

I belive these glasses can be a useful tool to some one that struggles with color blindness. But just that. A tool. Not a fix. By understand what these glasses can actualy do and their limitations someone with color blindness can potentially get a lot more information what the hues and colors they wouod normally struggle with. They won’t however maks them suddenly see in perfect color.

I hope they help your wife, and I belive that if she uses them as an aid, not a fix, they will help her a lot.

      Best of luck.

They diagnose you as colorblind using those Ishihara color tests, and apparently that second test from the video.

What I don’t understand about any of these videos about these glasses I’ve seen is, why don’t they repeat the tests with the glasses on?

If you can pass all of the colorblindness tests with the glasses on, then you’d say that the glasses work, even if they make everything magenta. Based on his orange-red blindness from the last glasses, I suspect that they might make you pass the tests your previously failed, but then you’d fail some tests that you previously passed.

It seems like the most basic way to verify whether the glasses work, and the first thing that people should think to test, but I’ve never seen anybody do it.

What a great point. I guess one reason could be that the glasses don’t reliably help with those tests.

The people making those videos have probably tried taking the tests again, but they don’t upload the footage because they realize the glasses don’t do shit.

Damn interesting video, and a fair look at the whole thing. Had no idea this was a scam.

Same. I often wondered why colorblind people didn’t all wear them. Makes sense that it’s the brain transmogrifying light incorrectly, so doesn’t matter what tint you put on a pair of glasses, it won’t do squat.

      Really solid watch tho!

I feel a little purple balled. I didn’t realize it was the first video in a series and I was surprised when it abruptly ended.

I’m super colorblind and I’ve known these things are a scam since I first started seeing the videos of dudes crying. Sometimes people will recommend these glasses to me and I’ll have to break their heart and tell them those happy videos they’ve seen are almost certainly staged, or at least over exaggerated.

I’d love to be able to see colors better, but I just don’t think it’s in the cards.

I bought these fucking things years ago. They increase contrast between opposing colours like red and green but destroy your colour vision for similar colours. Plus everything looks purple
