I’d like to take moment to appreciate that Space Oddity was released 54 years ago and still hits my daily feed.

Bowie always presented himself as just some dude doing whatever he wanted to do, and while I never did much to seek him out, he still constantly pops up in my life in the most peculiar ways.

Hopefully future historians will be able to explain what he actually did, because I have no clue, but his influence obviously transcended the medium that he used for doing it.

Yeah well that’s from where I learned English, so my vocabulary might be a little froody.

I never appreciated Bowie when I was younger, but as I grew older he became one of my favorite artists. Unfortunately, by that time he had largely stepped back from performing, and later it would come out that the reason was that he had cancer. Blackstar is an amazing album but I can’t listen to it often because of how emotional I get.

There’s a number of Bowie songs (including Space Oddity) in my sleeping playlist so I listen to them (sort of) daily. Specifically for sleeping, I think Sound and Vision is my favorite.
