What they can do with this:

- Provide you more relevant advertising on and off our Services
- Comply with our policies, procedures and legal obligations, including complying with law enforcement or government authority requests
- As otherwise consented to by you and as required or permitted by applicable law
The most important thing is that, that developers argue with F-Droid community, their own community, and closing everything that related this idea.

As Jean said, it will have a setting to toggle the Kayak integration and it will be opt-in (disabled by default) to avoid an Anti-Feature on F-Droid.
There mere presence of an affiliate button does not steal any private data. I’m not a fan of such button, just as I’m not a fan of default bookmarks and Google as default search in web browsers, and F-Droid shouldn’t have that much of a hard time of patching it out.

When an open source app links to some proprietary advertising framework, it’s patched out. Always has been. Get a clue.
Edit: Just to make it clear: Organic Maps is FOSS and everyone can just patch the affiliate button out. Whether they want to is a different discussion. My argument is about it being possible and legal and it is. If F-Droid maintainers opt to keep the links to fund development, that’s their choice but since F-Droid patches software all the time to remove ad frameworks and such, it’s up to them.
I’m genuinely confused about the point you’re trying to make. Are you trying to say the maintainers of F-Droid are themselves maintaining and modifying the software that’s added to F-Droid repos? Cause I’m pretty damn sure they do not, if that’s what you’re saying.
