But yeah according to the RAtWM folks, these people are totally close to becoming Socialists and we should work with them.

You’ll never guess what he tweets the day after

For context, Winston said this in 1973 for the CPUSA. He’s defending the party from when they dropped Black self-determination from the party platform in the 50s. Haywood put out this pamphlet in response right before Black nationhood was officially dropped from the party, detailing how and from where this revisionism is coming from (also in defense of Stalin). This memo got him purged from the party. Around the same time as the Winston essay, he puts out another piece about the collapse of the CPUSA from the 50s-60s.

Red Menace did an episode on the first Haywood piece, I think their criticism of the CPUSA even today is great.

The CPUSA dropped Black Self-determination from the platform to tail the Liberal assimilation movement and the conditions for Black people have never recovered. They did this in the same year that Emmett Till was lynched and his killers went unpunished. They absolutely failed to be the Vanguard.

I think everyone here should read the Haywood piece because it shows statements made by party members that just piss me off. Like this one:

The party capitulated to the Red Scare and settler nationalism using de-Stalinization by the CPSU as a cause to purge Black nationalists from the party.

Think about the implications of this event, a decade before the largest outburst of disobedience in the country’s history and supposed “Vanguard” drops militant Black anti-colonialism from the platform. The civil rights act was passed under bourgeois leadership because the party capitulated to it, and then blames Black nationalism on white radicals as the brains behind it, pathetic. MLK Jr. and Malcolm X killed in the vacuum the party left behind. Black poverty skyrocketed as predicted by Haywood. Ghettoization increased as predicted by Haywood. Now we are in a situation where NATIONALLY 1/3 Black men see prison (1 of my brothers is in prison on his 3rd strike, there are 3 of us brothers). The majority of homeless people are Black as predicted by Haywood. The BPP had to rebuild a vanguard from scratch in the ashes of the failed CP and Civil Rights movement with even more contradictions than what the CP had faced. In the face of the CP embracing Americanism, AIM and the BPP had to rebuild any semblance of anti-colonialism in North America from scratch.

The implication is integrationist. Winston was one of those overly-optimistic brothers who not only thought that the settlers not only should, but could ‘take the lead in the struggle’ against racism and oppression; and as a result, we shouldn’t have a reason to want to split away from again, the colonizers.

Frankly I find it kinda disgusting for some know-nothing fanfiction-writing cracker to claim that the internal colony theory is ‘wrong’, ESPECIALLY in the face of an Amerika that prosecutes us differently, incarcerates us differently, and still straight-up lynches us in the streets every time a cop gets called. Like, who the fuck is he to decide that? Who the fuck is this sun-dodging scoundrel to try and lash us back into boxes he can understand? If I’m honest, after every other writing I’ve seen out of Rainer thus far, this reads as little more than the longplay to turn Black folk into patsoc coons.

That’s what I thought too. New Afrikans aren’t colonized people anymore?? I don’t remember giving crackers permission to decide for us what our positions and material conditions are, especially when it’s coming from a settler colonialist perspective.

The tweet says in summary that there is no black internal colony and thus instead of black nationalism people should fight for a multi-racial socialist America.

This seems to be the gist of his point, that new Afrikans are not an internal colony in the U$. I’m not really interested in reading his article about it, as I’m kind of done with him.

Who is Henry Winston and why does he have the authority to deny importing millions of slaves to work under settler overseers is colonialism?

Whoever runs that Twitter account posts this, and then has the audacity to accuse us of having evil impulses…

Oh, and if these guys had their way, they would have kids be illiterate and working in factories again:

    (source 1 source 2)

But sure, we are the evil ones, for not wanting people to die because they can’t afford basic necessities. That’s a very evil thing to strive for. I am the most evil person to ever have lived.

I wonder if these people have ever put themselves in the place of the side that gets all the shit?

Do they, at least sometimes, come up with the idea that they would have to work since childhood for pennies, without receiving any education, risking losing their health and becoming disabled, unable to get medical care, because they do not have enough money for medicines and doctors?

Oh, they do. All the time, in fact; it’s why you’ll never fail to hear a settler railing against revolutionary Black nationalists/separatists talking on self-determination like “buh buh buh they wanna segregate the country again!” It’s out of a fear for retribution; a fear that our disciplined self-determination looks like their literally-cancerous barbarism.

Just reading the replies, and the idea that minimum wage laws are bad because they increase unemployment and layoffs is such an obnoxiously ass take.

I refuse to believe that someone can have a take that insane without knowing exactly what they’re doing. I can’t fathom it. What, pray tell, is the usefulness of the unemployment metric if the quality of life for those employed is deplorable? What information does the unemployment metric convey? Their assertion that unemployment and layoffs will go down is implicitly admitting that wages will drop significantly without the limits. There’s a 0℅ chance this person doesn’t understand that, and yet they sit there pretending like low unemployement is some holy grail, inherently good number to keep low.

There’s a lolbert trope that providing things for free in practice requires the subjugation of those who produce them. It’s really dumb.
