I was totally proven wrong by both Yuki and Lando. I thought yuki would struggle with race pace and slide backwards like last time in Monza but he held his own. On the other hand, I expected Lando to charge through the lower points positions and reach the top 3 but it never happened.

Not really. In all of 2022, 2023 and 2024 the two stop was way faster than the one stop.

If he entered the main straight around 6 tenths behind, he can gain enough through drs and slipstream to get into a proper divebomb range. On the other hand what actually happened was after the lockup he was slightly further behind and entered the main straight on lap 70 seven tenths behind and too far back to get in place for divebomb.

Edit - I also get why he did it but it was a mistake nonetheless. Shows that as good as he has been, he is not perfect. We have a cracker of a championship battle on our hands

It is not that simple. Usually tyre deg is so high that a single stop race is not possible. The temps were unusually low today and that meant deg was less and a one stop turned out to be the better strategy.

That lock up cost piastri. Rare mistake from him. He should taken the normal line like he did on the last lap on lap 69 to try a setup a overtake on the last lap. Taking the regular racing line on the last lap, he was closer to Lando throughout the lap
