You are probably right in that people wouldn’t collaberate to prevent an israeli win like that. But israel is gathering people for their collaberation, so I think the voting system is broken either way. If nothing is done, israel is basically guaranteed a top position. If a counter collaberation is formed, the competition is broken into a miserable predetermined show.

I just don’t think eurovision can work with israel (or any other country in a controversial war) participating.

I’m not saying that every vote which didn’t go to israel was actively a vote in protest to israel. My assumption is that mostly every vote to israel was to support their political actions while mostly every vote to other countries is because people like the music. With those two catagories, the votes to israel probably don’t need more than 10% of the votes to beat an even field of 90% of the votes, since those votes are diversified.

Political reasons for voting have always been a part of eurovision, but it has never been this prominent and this dividing. If we were to embrace eurovision as a political contest, those public votes would have to be gathered and coordinated to support a single country to assure that israel wouldn’t win. That’s a level of political degeneracy which I hope that eurovision never reaches.

This is exactly the same issue as with first-past-the-post elections. Diversifying votes on one side of an issue weakens that side. Eurovision isn’t meant to be a political game, so when political forces become involved like this, the votings become extremely broken, and if this continues, the only natural endgame is a two-party system.

I don’t think the votes in eurovision has ever been this politically driven. I have been receiving adds from several sources. It’s disgusting.

For a system I worked on a few years ago I got the password requirement:

• Only upper case letters A-Z, no letter or symbols.

• Exactly 7 characters.

I was also recommended to make it a single word to make it memorable.

They were banned. There is a whole thing about why Russia is banned while Israel is not. I don’t have the facts, but comes down to something about membership in EBU (the european broadcasting union).

I hate when I wake up with clear sinuses after a cold, and my mind is just in neutral mode: No happiness of being over a week of clogged and runny nose. Things are just ok, as they are supposed to be. None of that euphoria I was craving for.

I’m finishing my parential leave, so most of my time is dedicated to being with my kid. But whenever there is time, I will be delving into Oblivion.

I have had a similar scenario. I was in the shower, letting the shower thoughts run. Then i suddenly flinched as I became unsure if I had taken the phone out of my pocket before entering the shower. The tile placement game in Satisfactory is worth a mention. I never fully understood the points system, so I never really rode the game to decent scores, but it was a fun break from the vast size of the rest of the game.

I use it 100% of the time when the rules of traffic prompts me to use it.

Within a small single-lane housing area: I blink.

When exiting my driveway and the road reaches a dead end 100 meters in the one direction, so it should be very obvious which way I’ll go: I blink.

The roundabout in town which is so tiny that it looks more like an intersection, and when heading straight through it: I blink.

It’s so much better to have a habit of blinking and making unambiguous signals than to forget it. It helps with the flow of traffic and probably lets everyone get where they need to go quicker.

I have a great system where I load up a lot of bags into my car so I basically always have access to reusable bags when I drive to the store. And then I promptly forget the bags in the car when I shop and end up with freaking single use plastic anyways.

Post game of borderlands 3 is stupid in this regard. Normal enemies becomes a question whether full ammo in all weapons deal enough damage combined, given that they are all headshots.

I live in Norway. Growing up, some days in school were reserved for diverse activities. Some of my friends and I decided to bike to the swimming park in the city ~20 miles away. We didn’t have to bike on car roads at all to get there, as bike lanes and good side paths lead us the whole way. Being able to get anywhere with a bike at the age of 14 is an amazing level of freedom.
