There was a pretty mainstream “I hate everyone and everything” mindset amongst a lot of xenials in the early 90s, when these movies came out, too.

  We all know hating everyone is because they judge people for being different.
  
  It feels a lot better to accept than to hate.
  
  We should view life as being guests in the experience and not the director of it.
