Frog mouth.
Mainly because.
Frog mouth.
More like pog mouth, but yeah, that’s always been my fave.
SomeBODY once told me
King James was gonna roll me
kettle hat. breathable and open enough to take a nap in.
Completely agree, bascinet a close second because of that
This one, perhaps:
Flat-topped helmets are just an unforced error, people learned better pretty quick
Why?
cons: doesn’t deflect impacts from above
pros: none
pretty simple equation
Frog mouth looks like it is extremely susceptible to being poured hot liquids from enemy
Free soup
You’d drown in the rain!
Bascinet, is simply the most queer looking option.
hounskull
same, im going into battle with an ornate helm shaped like my dog
Burgundian Kettle is a trash tier Kettle Helmet, but they’re my favourite kind.
The rest are for poncy knights, Kettle Hats are the workhorse of helmet designs.
i love the swirly dirly, it’s probably good in a engineering way too but idk
But you could be wearing this instead.
Bascinet…
Looks the most comfortable and as it’s leather, lighter
Sallet every day
A fellow person of taste i see
frog mouth
Kettle hat because it is essentially just an armoured sun hat.
Hounskull looks like a muppet. Like you would slip in the mud and look up to them mocking you.
It does look ridiculous but I think that cuts both ways. I imagine looking over to see your friends getting cut down by some merciless armored fighter, and all you see when you look over is this doofy snout helmet covered in gore, dark eye slits staring back as he walk toward you like some murderous steel pigman. Nightmare.
frog mouth every day bbyyy
they call it frog mouth cos any opps that see it gonna be croakin real soon
The frogmouth looks like it’s made to deflect arrows and maybe transfer energy from getting bopped on the head down into your shoulders. Can you even swivel your head around inside it or is your head basically held in place? If you could that might be a good concept for a helmet, the enemy wouldn’t even know where you’re looking. That would be really intimidating.
I’m pretty sure the frogmouth is specifically for jousting and nothing else
I wasn’t too far off thinking it was for arrows then.
it was bolted in place. these late jousting pieces were significantly thicker and made inflexible to remove as much vulnerability as possible, because no one wants to die playing games, and you don’t move much on the lists. the slit is still where you could get seriously injured, but that was as good as it could get at the time.
It’s gotta be the bascinet, specifically the pig faced bascinet. Medieval hog out or log out
