We reduced functionality of the custom display name so that we can force pronoun handling for all users. Lemmygrad just allows you to set whatever you want as display name.
I think there is historical precedent that wreckers would use custom pronouns to ‘make a statement’ about them through ridicule. We validate the display name to make sure pronouns are from the approved list.

You can change your display name on lemmygrad. Don’t think you can on hexbear (yet?)

Ah that makes sense. It would be nice to have the secondary be custom, but I’m sure that’s easier said than done
