The tail lights are actually the stupidest thing at night though. The tail lights are the entire bar across the back. Then when the driver brakes, the bar goes out. It’s reversed from what people would expect from brake lights. Typically, people would expect more lights when the car is braking, not less.
I saw one as well. It looks like the Matrix stopped loading polygons or shaders on that object.
I will never buy a Tesla. I’m not normally one to pay attention to brands, but Elon Musk has tainted the brand to such a degree, that I’m disgusted at the idea of being associated with it.
That being said, the company still makes some decent technology. From what I understand, the motors, motor controllers, and battery packs are fairly decent pieces of kit. There seems to be some kind of disconnect between their engineering teams, though, because the cars themselves are so bad. I’ve seen internal panels fall off, interior components break at the slightest touch, misaligned body panels, and any number of other fit-and-finish issues. Not to mention, every single one is hideous. Make them look like an EV or make them look like a luxury car, not some half-assed abomination between the two.
I have to wonder why there’s such a disconnect within the company. It feels akin to building a Ferrari drivetrain and installing it in a Kia.

It’s a career now, with thousands of people trying to make it work, and it selects for ability to exploit Youtube instead of saying some real stuff. And so, the number of people with relevant stuff to say is few and far between.
This YouTuber is grumpy that all the reviews were done by the big reviewers on YouTube? I mean, yeah. They have the most subscribers. That’s how marketing works.
And having watched a lot of those reviews, I did not walk away with the impression that the CyberTruck was something reviewers were recommending. Seems like the general consensus was, it’s like being able to drive a silly floor concept from a car show. It does a couple interesting things, but it’s not practical, probably not entirely safe, and it’s a lot of style over substance. If you have cash to burn, and want to drive a SubZero fridge, go for it.
If you actually want a practical EV truck, the Lightning or R1T are probably much better options in just about every way, with the one exception being charging - those trucks only have access to the 15k NACS Telsa chargers, not the full 55k.
