    phones could have had this very useful functionality for a big while now.

      Samsung phones had it some time ago. Was called Dex I think.

        Samsung phones are really inconsistent with it though. My friend has a fold 4 and it supports dex, but my other friend with a flip 4 doesn’t. It’s also only really the flagship devices that support it, it hasn’t tricked down to anything less than top of the line.

        so did motorolas, but they seemingly aint putting money to get it polished. also its only available on some of the crazy expensive ones nowadays

    I discovered my iPhone 15 Pro could do that too when I hooked up a portable DP-Alt monitor over USB-C to it. The more the merrier as this just helps the overall ecosystem of products.

    Oh, my old Huawei did this. Just got a new pixel, and figured it was a default feature of android.
    I might have to experiment now, cause I’d hate to have to use it in a pinch and find it doesn’t work

    I was pretty annoyed that my pixel 6 didn’t come with anything equivalent to dex. I was pretty sure it was standard feature by then
