You know what’s shitty? I bought a townhouse to avoid this shit and it’s a shitty enough building in a shitty enough part of town that the previous owners felt no one in their right mind wouldn’t be renting it out. They did the cheapest fixes, the soulless paint, the locked thermostat, the whole landlord treatment. I imagine they rented out the place and hence their bullshit, but that paint was fresh and ugly.

We’re slowly undoing it, but fuck those people.

      Yep.

Lot of slumlord shit done in the townhouse I bought.

I was gonna only be here a few years but I’m paying like 2% so I might be buried here lol

One time I asked for my landlord’s permission to repaint in a color I liked, and while prepping the surfaces, I discovered that there was a baseball sized hole which they had just put painters tape and a layer of paint over.

This job feels like there was an argument about not having enough tape to cover things up and a worker who had their last days involved.

I was recently behind a woman in the queue at a hardware shop, asking for advice because her landlord had painted white gloss on the inside of her bath

“Soulless” white? It’s boring and inoffensive, and also I hate color.

The only room I’ve ever painted was grey. I particularly like the RGB c2c2c2. Fight me.

(My door is sage green though)
