Hi folks,
I got a new Xbox Series X Controller (Model 1914). I had Xbox One controller before.
With xpadneo installed I had basically no problems running my xbox one controller. It connected via BT with no issues and workes in games really well wired and wireless.
The new controller on the other hand, works really well via cable, but does not connect via BT. I can find it, I can pair it, but I cannot connect to it.
xpadneo readme says Series X needs a BT stick with BLE so I bought one, but that did not solve the problem (I’m not sure if BLE needs to be activated or how to do it rn).
One thing to try is to update the firmware of the controller, however that needs to be done on Windows, the Arch Wiki has some additional info where people explain pairing issues
There’s also a section on “able to pair but no inputs” in the troubleshooting section on the same Wiki page
Oh, updating firmware sounds reasonable. Thanks!
It’s the answer.
If the suggested solution doesn’t work one thing you could consider is getting an armor x pro or the cheaper armor x (doesn’t have gyroscope sensor) that essentially turns your controller into an elite controller that can also be made to appear as a playstation or nintendo switch controller.
I have two and have used them extensively and my only criticism is the controllers need essentially line of sight with the dongles to connect. The connection doesn’t use bluetooth rather the controller is connected to the computer/console through the strike pack communicating with its own dongle.
I know this seems random but an xbox x/s controller with an armor x pro is hands down the best xbox controller period even before you factor in the gyro sensor that can send input into games/consoles without gyro aim support through translating it into joystick input.
Not quite on-topic, but since there are others responding here… has anyone experienced issues with the xbox 360 for PC wireless controller not passing its D-pad to games in WINE/Proton? For example, Skyrim. I cannot use the ‘favorites’ weapon selection as a result. The D-pad is seen in the Wine/Windows DX joystick diags so I’m stumped. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Well there’s your problem; get a 2024 model
