A massive trade war looms after U.S. President Donald Trump announced Friday evening he will “absolutely” slap tariffs on goods from the EU.

Oh please do. ASAP, so that the EU and Canada can setup a combined front.

Would be great if he included Mexico too…

EU, China, Mexico, and Canada combined make up more than half of the US’s total trade, this is basically the US sanctioning itself

This is exactly it, his country is sanctioned and their currency is worthless. He has his goon trying to impose the same kinds of hardship on the rest of us.

The country with more guns than people, and he wants to hurt 320 million of us? This isn’t a threat, its a precaution. We’re backed into a corner. Like dude, you tell me how we’re supposed to exist in the hellscape you’ve created.

On the one hand, I’m not sure how else it’s supposed to go. On the other, I’m sure MAGA would love violence to break out; it’ll make it way easier to convince military leaders to fall in line when deployed on American soil.

Military comes from regular people in this country. Nobility isn’t pushed into service for experience here. And the military comes from poor people. Violence is a commodity in America. You have it or you don’t, and it can be taken and used differently by anybody else. Violence as a commodity is hard to keep control of. This is why Trump’s unsuccessful assassination attempts happen. Even his own people are aggressive against him. In America, violence is as valuable as data or food.
