As president he desegregated the army and dropped nukes on Japan. He also oversaw the Berlin airlift and part of the Korean war of 1950-1953.

They may be referring to the fact that by ending WW2 Truman cost all of the fighters their jobs? I’m hoping the comment was tongue-in-cheek.
The US military was reduced by 10.5 million people due to the end of WW2.
