I’m personally sad the AOE2 scence isn’t here. But with time hopefully!

Not appear, but to actually take off. There is !spiders@lemmy.world, but there is hardly any activity.

So please, go out there and take pictures of spiders and post them.

I’m an old r/spiderbro enjoyer, so as long as they accept pictures of me talking about how I appreciate my room mate spider I might stop by!

        !spiderbro@lemmy.world also exist!

Any spider content is generally welcome. Unless it’s suggesting killing or harming them, or making false claimes about their danger. As long as you love them, it should be fine.

          Yay spider bros!

With how many flies are in my house I keep wondering how many spiders I could release in my house before it becomes a problem.

Flies are noisy and up in my business all the time and trying to get on my food.

Spider bros just wanna find a nice corner where flies will run into them and chill out.

You need the right spiders. I have at least 6 Pholcus phalangioides in my flat. They dutifully stay put just at the edge between the ceiling and wall.

My home is well protected. Every bug crawling around on ground to mid-level is vanquished by may cats. If they go high, the cellar spiders are waiting.

But sometimes I have to be lucky to safe a spider from my cats, when it wanders too far down.

That’s the one with the pimples, right? I still remember having seen that … I wanted to forget. Why did you remind me?

I really did enjoy popping my own though. I just don’t understand why you would want to watch it from other people.

Not just pimples, but cysts, boils, winter pores, ingrown hairs, ear wax, blackheads, ingrown toenails, splinters, abscesses, tooth extractions, spider bites, bot flies, ringworm… it was glorious

          spider bites

I assure you, everything you find on various image search engines on this particular keywords will be wrong. Spider bites that result in serious complication are exceedingly rare. Almost undocumented since the time of proper record keeping and unheard of since anti-venoms where introduced in the US and Australia.

With that out of the way … I hate you for making me read all those disgusting words … half of them I have a mental picture for.

Yeah I think a lot of the “spider bites” you see are just misattributed staph infections

There was a proper scientific paper, years ago. It looked at spider bites on doctors records and indeed, about 70% they could attribute to common skin conditions (of course, common with hindsight).

That leaves very little “confirmed cases” of spider bites and in many of them it’s just because that’s what the chart said and no other explaination could be found.

It’s really a very unfounded fear.

I’m grossed out by people squeezing pimples but get satisfaction from watching people squeeze out blackheads. It’s weird.

just don’t typo it into “pooping”, because that would be weird and gross

AITA. I’m subbed to a few alternatives on Lemmy, but they’re all dead. Sure, I could start it myself, but it needs other people to post to actually be worth it.

Most of the things I like to follow have communities I want are here. But there are a number where there aren’t enough subs to make it a real community yet. Often this is because there just isn’t a ton of OC to post because they’re not super popular. Like my favorite band (!pearljam@lemmy.world), my favorite video game (!oxygennotincluded@lemmy.world), or my favorite TV Show (!taskmaster@feddit.uk - the show is quite popular though)

Like a month before the migration I found out Mike Pondsmith and Fam commented on the cyberpunk TTRPG board, that was pretty cool.
