You never know who’s looking

Perhaps a traffic camera with facial recognition?

I get it, it’s in the middle of nowhere.

But this ad (or whatever it is) sucks anyhow, anywhere. Unless it’s cynical in itself? I’m not sure: if it was some sort of surveillance criticism, wouldn’t they have chosen “watching” instead of “looking”?

This reminds me of a line in The Gulag Archipelago , by Alexander Solzhenitsyn:

“Don’t ever be the first to stop applauding!”

If this is some panopticon nonsense, I will be confrontational and critical out of spite, even though it isn’t consistent with my introverted personality.

Stop telling me to smile. My face is just like this, and it only gets worse when scrutinised.
