I’m progressing my battle against my youtube addiction by blocking the page youtube.com/watch from ublock origin, no more watching youtube natively. Still can use invidious just less convenient so won’t overdo it as much

    Blocking doesn’t work. I nonetheless tried that with other addictive stuff. Naturally unsuccessful.

    Better way is to find a positive substitute action you do each time you feel the urge to open youtube.
    Retrains your brain.

    You can look into libredirect if you haven’t already. You can route all YouTube links to invidious

    I use Freedom to block it during certain parts of the day it’s not practical to ban it outright, e.g. you need to watch a YouTube DIY how to video to fix your cat for eg
