US attacks against the Digital Services Act (DSA) have sharply escalated since the Commission's recent €120 million DSA fine on Elon Musk's social media platform X

X wasn’t fined for allowing free speech. This is absolute bullshit.

X was fined for:

Refusing to disclose who buys ads
Refusing to cooperate with researchers studying the algorithm
Allowing scammers to obtain blue checkmark accounts without verifying their identities

I do not quite understand why this submission got downvoted that much.

The comment is absolutely spot on and just describes the reasoning behind the fine.
