Lost my job. Second oldest daughter became a Christian overnight (neither my wife nor I have ever mentioned religion in the house and are both decidedly atheist/agnostic) and don’t we dare suggest the fact that religion is trending on social media might have anything to do with it!
Other than that it’s been a splendid week.
The cat died, I gotta deal with a man child having a tantrum, I spent 90 minutes on the phone listening to a colleague who was upset, and I gotta go tackle the boss next week even though I know he’ll never admit he’s wrong.
Overall I think the cat thing is the reason for my low mood.
Fingers crossed for a better week next time.

Taken about a week before be died. He pulled my robe down to use as a bed.
That’s a beautiful color, I don’t think I’ve seen many chocolate cats
Thank you. I think he was a beautiful boy too, especially when cuddling!
That’s a rough one. Even when they’ve lived a full life it’s never easy to say goodbye.
I’m sorry about your cat 😩 how old was he/she?
He was 15, and he was loved and loving all the way upto the end.
As cat lives go, he had a good one. Definitely feeling his absence
I’ve been picking up the electric guitar for the past few weeks and I’ve been really enjoying it, but christ are my fingers sore 😭. The bottom three strings are like pressing my fingers into cheese cutter wire.
What’s the solution? Just have to wait for your skin to get tougher?
Yeah, you have to play and build up calluses on the tips of your fingers.
Avoid doing dishes by hand, too. Gloves if you have to, protect those calluses at all costs.
Let us know when you’ve nailed Kill the King (imo Blackmore at the top of his game).
I’m showing my age, but I read this and thought “wait, did Megadeath have a different guitarist at some point”, but no you’re talking about a band I hadn’t heard of.
Absolute lad. I’m going to knock this degree course shit on the head (hopefully) in a few months, and I’ve always fancied a bass guitar.
Might invest in some entry level Squire love and a cheap amp and start annoying the neighbours.
At the end of the day, it’s their fault if they don’t like Fleetwood Mac isn’t it.
I’ve realised what people mean when they say they’ve lost interest in their job.
I used to chalk it up to meaning “I have lost my enthusiasm, and no longer do it with gusto, and am happy to just take the money and wait for retirement”.
No. It does not mean that. It means “I can no longer motivate myself to do tasks in a timely manner. The tasks still need to get done, but now I have to put in extra time and effort into psyching myself up to do it”.
You literally expend more mental energy, and it’s stressful as hell when the deadlines come around each week
