I played the demo and I was very, very impressed. It’s really fun and well written, and feels much closer in spirit to Disco Elysium than Zero Parades.
Zero Parades
I didn’t know the demo for that was out!
it is, and it’s an incredibly mid game, feels like a poor copy of Disco while Esoteric Ebb feels fresh, exciting and like it goes beyond being just a “Disco-like”, for lack of a better term
heard chef, just doesn’t have that sauce.
I gotta admit i lost track of the DE “spiritual successors”, is this related to a fraction of the original staff in any way like the other 4 games i can think of or is that an entirely unrelated studio making a disco-like?
Completely unrelated; just some person who liked Disco and made a game.

My first impression on playing the demo is that there’s really something special about this one, both in terms of the writing and the gameplay.
The description reads like a Planescape Torment × Disco Elysium thing
Plus a healthy dose of Terry Pratchett.
I only got to play it for a couple hours after work tonight but I can already tell this game will be very much My Shit. I just talked to a little demon lawyer about the laws around resurrection spells, the death penalty, and expectations about DIP (Death in Perpetuity). And I can keep asserting to people that I’m The Cleric.
Oh this looked very good when I checked it out. I’ll likely be buying
Man, it’s been a while since I bought a game on launch day.
Looks really quite promising.
fitgirl just dropped the repack: https://fitgirl-repacks.site/esoteric-ebb/
Ive put 5 hours into it so far and like another 5 in the demo and I gotta say if you can afford it this is one to buy.
tight! editing now.
On a scale from 0.000% to 0.001%, how much communism do you build in it?
well, there is an election going on, and one of the parties is pro worker, but i haven’t gotten that far yet
