Can’t believe they’ve done it again.
This is even worse than Stone Ocean. There is no OP and ED, only one episode and the next episode nowhere in sight.
Netflix is the death of good content.
I can’t believe they scored the most anticipated anime series in a long time, they literally had to do nothing, but then they decided to fuck it up.
Netflix killed the JoJo hype the second they got the series. I don’t know what David Production (or whoever made the deal with Netflix) was thinking but no amount of short term profits was worth permanently hamstringing the popularity of the show. In the long run they will be losing money. But most of the money from anime production goes to fucking corporate parasites so you can see why short term gains were prioritized
Jojo went from one of the biggest and most popular franchises to a fringe anime after just one Netflix season. Legitimately insane.
Even profits don’t make sense because streaming it on a weekly schedule will retain subscribers for longer compared to batch releases.

Yup. The way Netflix has handled JoJo is just astoundingly bad
what is OP and ED in this context?
OPening song and EnDing song that usually play at the start and end of anime episodes
intro outro music video
I agree but the OP and ED always starts on the second episode in JoJo
It’s common to not have an OP in the first episode. I really can’t imagine them wholly excluding OPs from a series that has several famous OPs.
If you don’t know. Check out Stemio and the mods for it.
I have a theory that because the first episode is 2 to 2.5 times an episode length, they’re releasing the first episode and holding on that for 2 to 3 weeks before releasing the next episode (so the equivalent of having released an episode a week).
Not to go to bat for Netflix, but I actually prefer staggered release somewhat. I don’t want to binge watch, actually. And I don’t want my refusal to binge watch to be taken as proof a show should be canceled.
Incredibly ceo-brained to split the series up into stages, the first stage is 10 miles and then the next stage is 750 miles.
They also cut out so much stuff from the first part of the story (the worst thing being the abridged introduction to sandman’s character).
They released only one episode instead of the entire season? That’s actually ridiculous
They staggered release of Dandadan also… This is their usual schedule AFAIK.
I loved all 6 seasons and am excited for this one :\
I had no familiarity with any of it before i started watching, just that my best friend loved it
Critical support to Netflix for removing OPs and EDs. Hasn’t been a good one since Cowboy Bebop
Edit: Touched a nerve with this one.
Good, fuck yall lmao
I just found the worst post ever made on Hexbear

I do not endorse Dandadan because the spiritual posession and alien abductions are way too sexual assault-adjacent, but its first OP slaps incredibly hard.
I, on the other hand, endorse Dan Da Dan because it’s a great show.
I liked it to an extent but it’s definitely CW-worthy.

I also dont like opening and endings in general, there is 1 worth watching or listening out of 100, im here for the story
Tank! may be the goat but the Mob Psycho and Kaguya OPs all slap.

Does anybody have info on those Chinese grey-market piracy -streaming boxes? I saw an article about it that said people are selling them in Home Depot parking lots and haven’t heard anything else about it.
My homelab streaming server is a old thinkpad from 2017, an old Ethernet cable, and tailscale for remote access, I’d steer clear from vendor hardware like that since you can set up everything yourself (seedbox, jellyfin, etc).
Also curious about these…heard a snippet of info that said they brick every year or so and need to be replaced for some reason
Is Netflix why there’s no OP or ED
Probably because of the shitty release schedule.
