I wasn’t even the mod involved in this until they decided to spew abuse at me in a completely unrelated community that I do mod. Ugh. Why are people like this, and why are so many of them on this platform?

Edit: If this is too close to the spirit of rule 5, I apologize and no hard feelings if you remove it. Trying to make a general point here and anonymized all the identifying bits.

Edit 2: Some of you recognized the user despite my attempts to anonymize things. While it’s all there in the modlog, please don’t doxx the user as I’m only highlighting the behavior and have already reported them via proper/official channels and shown them the door for the little communities I run.

    Sadly, that instance - and even more so its twin - have bent over backwards so far to welcome tankies that it is becoming more and more like tankies themselves all the time. The anarchists do not realize that they are going to be eaten alive by the actual tankies, and refuse to believe such even when told outright.

    As a result I find myself less and less welcoming the “input” to a conversation from someone with that instance name behind them.

    I suppose all the “free speech” crowd has to go somewhere, now that so many entire instances or at least individual people one-by-one are blocking The Triad, and with Lemm.ee having shut down under the weight of that onslaught, those genuinely freedom-loving instances seem to look the most attractive to that crowd of people for whom no means keep pushing further.

    I do not believe that it was this way a couple of years ago, but sadly times have changed.
