Sound will of course come out of the headphone jack, but might have rather nasty side effects too.

I get the feeling that whatever is on the end of that line doesn’t quite meet “nice headphones.” EDIT: It’s probably just an aux cable plugged into an ipod/phone to allow playback of a backing track while playing a guitar.
Why isn’t it plugged into the headphone jack?
