    Cologne Cathedral Christmas market.

Every time I open this sub I’m logged out of it again. Any ideas why that might happen? It’s only been a problem for the last couple of days.

There has been an upgrade which has caused some glitches, particularly around logging in. Although most people seem to have had trouble logging in in the first place. Maybe try logging out, clearing your cookies and logging in again? (make sure you know your password and can log in again first if you are relying on it being saved in the browser)

They have made an update. A part of that update no longer allows you to stay logged in if not in use. It frees up traffic.

The Adelaide community is pretty dead there, I wonder how often non-melbournians post here?

In other news, just did some shopping for the newest once removed cousins (thank you google, I could never understand family relationships), and I think purchasing those glow in the dark stars at Big W was a great idea. We’ll see how it goes once I give it to their parents.

Suggestion for the stars… Print out the night sky for the month/year the kid/s were/was born. Then the parent can do it on the roof of the kids bedroom. I did that with kidcalhoon1, she loves it. never did get round to it with kidcalhoon2 though 😬

Great suggestion, maybe this can be for a slightly older age, maybe 4+? I can definitely imagine being immersed in my room with the constellations that were visible on my birthday.

The star’s would have to be smaller to provide a bit more fidelity - the ones I got were the assorted pack of various sizes and colors.

Curious about everyone’s response with this one.

2 spoons instant, 1 spoon sugar, little hot water, and the rest milk. (Basically coffee flavoured milk)

I usually don’t buy barista coffee very often due to me being a cheapskate but when I do it’ll be a mocha if I suspect they use good quality cocoa, or the good ol flat white. No syrup / flavourings. May use a sachet of their sugar if I’m feeling sweet toothed or to round off the bitterness.

I’ve asked their parents for a theme. I don’t know how I’ll feel taking their few month old & 2 yr old out shopping with their parents!

I’ve gotten the older ones (1 & 2) the melamine bowls & plates, I hope for them to stick around in their pantry until they’re adults :)

The stars are for the few month old one.

It’s been a bit of a fruitful day today - summer fruits time has started in earnest, and the food cupboard was bountiful. I got 8 punnets of starting to go mouldy strawberries, and once I removed the dodgy pieces I have about 3 punnets worth of useable fruit (mostly cut up and in the freezer for a future jam). I’ve also got lots of bruised peaches & nectarines, along with a few apricots and plums (also in the freezer, after the bruised sections removed and the good bits cut up).

I also harvested the final cherries from my tree - they are cooking cherries, so not as sweet as good eating cherries. I have already bottled a few jars for the cupboard this year, so I’ll freeze the rest for jam & to go in overnight oats and suchlike.

I managed to make enough jam from discarded fruit last year to supply myself all year, give a few jars as gifts, plus donate half a dozen jars and some coconut jam slice back to the food cupboard. Hopefully I can do the same again this year 🙂

*Mufasa Yawn* ok I’m up. Friggin smoke detector maintenance guy is coming “between 7:30am and 9:30am” so I - the idiot who hasn’t learned after all these years - was up and showered before 7:30am knowing full well that he’ll turn up at 9:28am.

Edit: 8:45! Took all of 2 minutes and he’s gone.

Yeah. I understand that. When I’m queued up for work with jobs as well I try and give a realistic timeframe based on priorities and what is achievable.

Also to keep the people updated if things aren’t quite working in terms of timelines.

That’s the least they could do so you aren’t waiting around all day for nothing.

yup, I hear “tradie should be out on X day” then when I call before usual tradie knockoff hours specifically to check that this is still feasible for them I expect to hear “yeah his car fucked up and he’s on the way now” or “Jobs ran long, probably tomorrow”. This nebulous “we made a schedule and they will be there” in defiance of fact is begging for an enraged response

I’ve just been to the dentist and had a filling done. My mouth is still numb, my smie lop-sided and my teeth feel like weird imposter teeth. I have a couple more fillings scheduled for next year, and a broken tooth that is being referred to a specialist for removal, so I’m sure that one’s going to be great fun to have removed (and pricey as well, no doubt). Agh, teeth.

At least it is a lovely day & the walk there and back was really quite pleasant.

There’s some youngsters singing karaoke (maybe in the park). I don’t recognise the songs and they sound terrible and possibly drunk. I should get dressed and go over there and show them how it’s done. That’ll scare them home.
