  • Ah, you’re right, Connect is just for Android. Though I do remember hearing of an iOS Lemmy app that could block instances at a user level, but I’m sorry to say I don’t remember the name.

That being said, I fully agree with you on relying on instance admins to defederate / block instances. I prefer to have the agency to choose for myself what gets blocked / not blocked. Though I can’t complain about my instance’s decisions so far, thankfully.

I hope you find something that works for you.

  • I don’t intend to go back nearly as much as before, even if the changes are reverted (unlikely, imo). A lot of the aspects of Reddit that I didn’t like - but tolerated - are generally not found here, at least so far. While Lemmy still leaves things to be desired, it just feels better to engage with.

However, I may still add " reddit" to the end of a search query to avoid all the bloat articles that crop up in a search. There’s still a wealth of useful information on Reddit from all those years for even the most niche questions / topics.

  • Thanks for the advice! I think I just need to commit the game loop with Heat Rises -> Melee -> Phoenix Dive -> Nades to muscle memory. The window in which you can extend your Restoration is very small.

By the way, thanks for the tip about Phoenix Dive’s scorch proccing your melee via scorch, that will go a long way to making it more reliable. I didn’t know that.

  • Lemmy seems to cover most of the content from larger subreddits. For the smaller, or more specific communities (such as local subreddits or those for hobbies/interests) they generally have a Discord server to join.

So between Lemmy and Discord, I’ve eliminated the need to use Reddit at all. This isn’t without it’s flaws or drawbacks, but it ‘scratches the Reddit itch’, I guess.
