Best we leave them alone. I watched the Magicians, I know the whales are busy maintaining the sigils that the old gods used to lock away the krackens.

Do you want krakens? This is how we get krackens,

Yes. In fact, I have spent a long portion of my life starting my morning with demands of the release of the kraken.

We’re not learning the lesson fast enough. The kraken will either be another step in our downfall, or we can start feeding people to them until things get better.

as someone living in a city where even the closest proper river is a couple km away, i’d sure like to see the krakens try to threaten me.

These aren’t cutesy Clash of the Titan’s krackens, these are “shatter the world as they hatch from it” krackens.

I wonder if that’s where the mass effect devs got the inspiration for the mass relay design

I’m here to report that divine punishment did get served, albeit god has a cruel sense of humor, so that specific whales jaw got sheared off by a speeding ferry, causing it to drown after hours of vocal, agonizing pain

What the fuck does this even mean? Why are we not allowed to see whale eyes?

Well one it looks very cool (magical perhaps even) and as humans we aren’t really made for swimming with whales, so it can feel like a sin to see such beauty when you were never really meant to see it

That’s wrong from both atheist and religious viewpoints. Either there is no “never meant to see it”, there is no meaning there. Or some God made whales as they are, very curious and often interact with other species, specifically looking at them, either from below or above the water, so then we were meant to see this.

None of those options take away from how cool it is and how magical it looks IMO.

something so stupidly gigantic having eyes that look soulful and intelligent is rather uncomfortable to most people, it’s a pretty common trope for that reason
