It has been 5249 days since Sean Hannity agreed to be waterboarded to raise money for a veteran’s family charity and to show that waterboarding was not torture. Sean Hannity has yet to be waterboarded.

The online waterboarding I’ll always remember was when FPSRussia did it back in the day. That channel was all about big guns, glorifying weapons and war.
He said he’d do a live stream (back when they were still new) where he’d get waterboarded. The stream lasted 5 minutes total, and ended with him being waterboarded for only a few seconds before the camera shut off. Chat wasn’t even egging it on because of how awful it is to watch someone get tortured.
No idea how Hannity can say it isn’t torture
Christopher Hitchens kept insisting it wasn’t torture but had the guts to actually undergo it to prove it and he only lasted a few seconds. After he was like “yeah, that’s torture, I was wrong.”
His weird rightist swing late in life was pretty disgusting but I will respect that he actually put his money where where his mouth was and recanted his earlier statements.
Boasts about the belt but afraid of a little water.
And I’m sure he thinks, "And I turned out just fine!’
As someone who was also hit with a belt as a child, I can confidently assure you that it’s definitely part of what’s wrong with me and him both.
It seems his reaction to that was less “this should never happen to anyone” and more “if I survived, so can you,” which explains - though not excuses - his wretched outlook on the world.
“I got hit with a strap. Bam, bam, bam—and I’ve never been to a shrink[. . .]I had welts when my father hit me in the legs with his belt,” Hannity told his guests as they detailed the allegations leveled against Peterson[. . . .]“My father punched me in the face when I talked back to him once, and I deserved it,” Hannity later said in the discussion while defending his dad’s alleged actions[. . . .]Hannity then removed his own belt and proceeded to whip his desk. “I got it like this,” the host said. “And I deserved it[. . . .]So my father should have been arrested based on today’s standards?”
Yeah, dude. He should have.
“Yeah, he used to take his baton and crack my skull, SPLAT! Split it wide open and gave me permanent brain damage! But I probably deserved that too. Dads will be dads, amirite?” /s
“And that’s how Hannity’s are created: Unadressed child abuse and untreated brain damage”
Is it possible his father could see into the future?
If so, he clearly enjoyed what he saw.
If someone says they “TURNED OUT FINE” and normalizes child abuse, they did not turn out fine.
“Kissinger later downplayed the influence his experiences of Nazi persecution had had on his policies”
Uh-huh
Classic line from my dad who was beat by his father, he did not turn out fine and he has emotional problems. But leave it to fash, who’re supposed to “protect the children” to advocate for beating your child.
Hannity then removed his own belt and proceeded to whip his desk. “I got it like this,” the host said. “And I deserved it. I was a troubled kid.”
This is why it’s a bad idea to trust a conservative to help when you have troubles
CW warning please
Wilhelm Reich, The Mass Psychology of Fascism
I got hit with a belt once or twice, a hand maybe once or twice. It wasn’t the worst thing my dad did either. All of his bullying, drinking, and mean words were much worse. It was only until the last 5-8 years we could have a good relationship. Even if you think getting hit by a belt by your dad isn’t bad, it’s indicative of their parenting style which in my experience where the negative feelings come in.
what, like he’s special?
