I am a rather introvert person with some additional slight social anxiety issues.
Wouldn’t directly interpret it as “danger”, but would definitely get uncomfortable and depending on how good I know the person also anxious.

I’m not great at telling sincerity from sarcasm and was bullied in school for my appearance, so being complimented out-of-the-blue initially registers as a threat for me until my thinking brain can catch up
