This is going to suck. Hard. I was just a kid when the War on Terror happened, but what I do remember is that even though tons of people were protesting Bush, calling him Hitler, etc, it did nothing. The imperialism went ahead anyway and the pro-imperialist propaganda machine was just as loud as the protesters.

You’re going to feel very alone in a very wild world (if you don’t already, its already been pretty wild) because it’s going to ramp up.

I beg you to know you aren’t alone, stay strong. At least this time, the US isn’t at it peak power like it was back then. Maybe we can do something about it, but we’re going to have to remember what didn’t work last time. We have to learn from the past and adjust.

You aren’t alone, and you aren’t crazy.

Tbh I still have a soft spot in my heart for the post 9/11 beef between Toby Keith and The Chicks. When the Chicks wore those shirts that said “FUTK” to, I believe it was the CMAs and they said, “oh of COURSE it doesn’t stand for Fuck You Toby Keith, silly! It stands for Friends United in Truth and Kindness!” Fucking a right.

Tbh the Chicks are dope, idgaf. Their run of albums from Wide Open Spaces to Fly and then Home? Fuckin’ damn near bulletproof.

I know that’s not the point of this thread but post 9/11 American pop-country music is a bit of an autistic special interest of mine soooooooooo

I’m still waiting for the two albums worth of various artists “Rock Against Trump” songs. We need a new “American Idiot” to help us through these bleak times.
