The inability of people to take this stuff seriously is baffling. It reminds me of how deer will freeze up and just stare at an oncoming car.
I think a terrifying thought is that this is people taking it seriously in their mind. They’re so propogandised against effective action it doesn’t even register as a possibility, thus voting becomes the most serious action one can take in between their parades and slogan shouting.
I think it’s that but also there’s a deeper unspoken layer where if they admit voting won’t work then it means that all the other subtructural shit they’ve been ignoring was important and that is a big pill to swallow
Now, how aware they are that this is going on is debatable
Germany famously became unNazi because people voted for it
- the ballot boxIt never really stopped being nazi did it?
the good half of it did some actual denazification and the west will never forget

Eh. Even people within the party and the DDR complained that it was not enough, and considering the attitudes in East Germany towards Turkish-German people after reunification and their attitudes towards migrants right now, I don’t think they did a good enough job.
Hitler was defeated when America joined the war and invaded Germany to vote
Precision polling strikes and strategic carpet balloting.
When you out-lib someone with a Harry Potter reddit account

I loved that part in the last book where Ron, Harry and Hermione went out into the world to collect votes from apathetic sorcerers to finally defeat Voldemort for good.
Libs: vote!!
Lib politicians: if elected, I will do nothing to fix any of this
Trump: there might not be elections even
Libs: uhh, vote harder!!!
Lib politicians: if elected, I will do nothing to fix any of this
Or just veto the successful stuff
political power grows out of the ballot box - mao libdong
By any vote necessary - Libcolm X
Man imagine people before Hitler knew that you just had to vote. No WW2! Fascists hate this trick.

$20? Shit, I thought it was a few hundred. Still easier to donkey vote though, I’m not paying to not vote.
what if everyone they know is voting, then what?? Is that the only thing USAmericans can do?
They can also hold parades, shout slogans and dance the fascism away.
They can also “never forgive” those that voted for Trump!
“never forgive” until the next guy comes around and they’ll be in such a hurry they’ll be tripping over themselves to whitewash Amerikkkan fascism and its supporters including Trump and his followers just like they did Obama, Clinton, Regan, Bush and all the rest.
it was mandatoryIt’s okay. I’m sure we wont have sent thousands more to concentration camps by november. No hurry
There’s definitely not constat threats of dissolving elections by the supermajority currently in charge. With the only “opposition” being limited to people who can barely tie their shoes without apologizing to the laces

When you’re Australian, votes are mandatory and therefore the government is reflective of the will of the people. No, I’ve never heard of Gough Whitlam.
We’ve had a dem super majority in California for a long time. Nothing really changed, especially not majorly.
And they’re wanting to use that success to propel the man currently causing a lot of what Californians want (and voted for) to not happen.
What’s the opposite of agitative propaganda called?
COINTELPRO
😭
If we convince libs to hand out like 1 can of beans per voter registration could we accidentally trick them into doing something meaningful?
