I moved and despite careful planning and communication with my employer months in advance and all along the way, I was suddenly forced to resign because of the move (despite being able to commute to an office, it wasn’t even a remote work policy issue; the employer was very unethical after miscommunicating and letting me lose my more than decade-long career there because of their mistake).

Our long term goal was for me to become a housewife eventually anyway, and because of my unexpected unemployment and post-op care needs when I lost my job, I became a housewife early. 😅

Now I cook, plan meals, do grocery shopping, run errands, clean, manage finances, do laundry, etc. Most of it is labor that has to be done no matter what, we all have to eat, we all have to clean, we all have to do laundry, etc. - so it’s all valuable labor, and all labor I was doing when I was working full-time, so it’s just a more balanced and happy life for me and my partner.

And I wouldn’t mind providing for one tbh. Being able to give your SO the choice not to work is very empowering
