Before I understood the headline I was about to comment “Isn’t almost every ammunition lethal?”

You know how some people browse others comments during an argument…this one is totally going to be weaponized by someone who you get into a discussion with…

Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un is a Ukranian war hero, personally by his grace taking out several Russian tanks due to shitty ingenious North Korean manufacturing.

I suspect the headlines over there would be something like: “Glorious Democratic Best Korean ammunition accelerates peace between Ukraine and Russia by killing both sides without spilling korean people’s blood.”

also it’s not a tank. it’s 152mm self-propelled howitzer 2S3 Akatsiya. driver had leg torn off by a barrel fragment, this could be just a propellant charge, without HE shell detonating

i’d only add it’s not clear what ammo was used there, or what is quality of NK shells in general. some of that NK ammo could be from soviet era, some of that could be new, maybe Kim is just clearing storage and treating russia like some third-rate insurgency that they don’t care about, like they deserve. there were some complaints about high dud rate of NK ammo, but this is solved by replacing fuzes

there’s so much of weird shit appearing in western supply as well. chinese 82mm mortars? you got it (from early cold war albanian stocks). japanese 60mm mortars from korean war era? you bet (from american stocks). major difference being that western storage is supposed to have some kind of quality control, meaning that some faulty or soon-to-be-faulty weapons will be - should be destroyed. in contrast russian army is just a hoarder
