I’m a linux noob still, i guess mint is focused on being user friendly while debian is focused on being stable and more lightweight. The installation process of mint is similar to windows it just takes half the time and you want to click yes on everything instead of no, once your done the cinnamon environment looks and feels alot like winxp.
