There you go friend
Okay, I was thinking there was a reboot when they changed from Roman numerals.
it’s a common misunderstanding and it’s actually something of an in joke with the fandom. there’s a really good edit someone made that basically changes the canonical order to be:
The Mechanic (2010)
The Mechanic II (2013)
MECHANIC III: New Dawn (2022)
The Mechanic 3 (2015)
MECHANIC 2 (2020)
MECHANIC (2019)
The Mechanic: Revelations (2014)
which works remarkably well. they actually brought back the original director from the first two the mechanic movies for new dawn, so stylistically it fits better even though it was made a decade later. the end result is a sort of rashomon version of the mechanic narrative. it’s really a must watch for mechanic fans.
Thank you good fae, now I have an excuse to rewarch the whole series

If it’s heroin, meh, it’s called rent or whatever. If it stars two dudes in a horse costume, it.there opening night
I didn’t know horse was a slang term for heroin until I read that.
It’s about a society where some people are horses and some people are two people in a horse costume, but our main character is two people in a horse costume who want to be a horse.

Adolf, The Musical
Escape from Rebel City is an action movie with a confused and incoherent ideology of rebellion.
The Capricorn is Oscar bait.
Tomorrow Comes Next Tuesday is a manic pixie dream girl romance. The girl’s name is Tomorrow.
Char Broiled is a stoner comedy about an aspiring cook.
The Bogota Maneuver is historical Oscar bait.
Flint! is a musical about Obama.
Steel Mechanic is scifi action about a grizzled man who fixes robots in early 2100s Los Angeles.
Eacape From Rebel City is the sequel to Road to Rebel City and comes before The Battle for Rebel City and it’s the only one I do have a solid concept for. Think The Warriors, Streets of Fire and Miami Connection kinda overall universe where everyone knows kung fu, is in a street gang that reflects the subgenre of rock they’re totally dedicated to and everyone is in a band or bike gang. Neon.
Sounds freakin sweet
It’s not all there yet, but it’s been something sticking to my brain and slowly filling in
Get some Megazone 23 into the mix
I’d be with ya, but I’m trying to avoid the anime side of it, cause Japan kinda has their own version of what I’m going for and it’s pretty well established and trodden. I’m going more for a world interpreted by coked up low budget film distributors who would have maybe released a localized dub of those animes on vhs and recorded the voices mostly themselves to save money and paid little attention to good translations. 70s sleaze clashing with 80s glitz is a part.
