Is it confirmed smallpox vaccine protects against this newer strain of mpox?
It reduces the chance of being infected somewhat, but do expect you’re going to get it if the virus is more effective in transmission. What smallpox vaccine is good at is it’s capability to significantly reduce mpox’s fatality (for a lifetime), so if you already have it, the chances are you dont need to worry about it.
