Still a record sales year though, like each previous year was.
Still love the game though
The parallels between Store Citizen and Te$la are remarkable in their overlap. Chris Roberts, head grifter of Store Citizen, even put himself directly in his grift game’s lore as even more grandiose counterpart!
I don’t feel bad for any of these people. The scam has been so obvious for so long at this point that they just wanted someone to relieve them of their money
I’m only sad for whatever families are still around those aging gamedads that may need that income a lot more than Chris Roberts.
The fact that many of them openly admit that their wives don’t like their “investments” in Store Citizen or even boast that their kids will one day inherit their “fleets” is sad.
Oof good point
Store Citizen
Imagine inheriting a video game fleet in your parents will when they die.
We’re in a race to see if Star Citizen hits release, or Joseph Kony is arrested.
Any day now!
Okay, I’m going to prophecy here. Let me huff some sulphur fumes and put on my prophecy hat.
Okay.
Till CIG is fallen and the heart of Roberts fails, no mortal blade or harm shall befall @UlyssesT@hexbear.net
Me, going to the Spectrum forum emboldened by prophecy:
WHY ARE YOU BOOING ME I’M RIGHT?
I fucking hate Richard and Mortimer, I’d be like this there:
I am proud to say I haven’t seen that eposide and stopped watching it during the first season.
Enjoy media? Me? I would never
Jokes aside that is a very powerful line when separated from the context of the show.
I never saw the episode either but I still liked the line out of context.
Treat defenders still exist, of course:
You dont even know what they are doing, or what they are done. Main reason is ignorance… They invented or improved tech several times. And you did not noticed that?
Can I have your stuff?
Your opinion is fact and anyone that doesnt agree with you is an ostrich.
IRL people wait for clarification answers. When you did that as well you would not have been anger posting
can anyone say some positive news about this project ?? Though still inconsistent, their ship interiors are vastly improved from the early days. Not sure if that’s “news”.

I’m sure there’s no at play here. This is a calm individual, completely tolerant of dissent among followers of Cult Imperium.
Individual in question
The only thing I have seen that is remarkable about this game is the ship designs and the fact that they have full interiors. I know the X series is more economy sim but I hope X5 takes a look at the ship design of Star Citizen a bit. I love what they did with interiors in X4 from X3 but it all starts to feel same-y after a bit. Seemless navigating around a ship would be great.
The only thing I have seen that is remarkable about this game is the ship designs
They’re 90% just stuff that Chris Roberts saw on a movie and wanted a derivative knock-off of, from le dropships to le Millennium Falcons to even le ZYBERTRUKKKs in space.
and the fact that they have full interiors
Those full interiors have less functionality than the Jump to Lightspeed expansion for the late Star Wars Galaxies; just about nothing in them can really be interacted with or moved around unless it’s something really stilted like a “secret” chess board switch that opens that same “secret” le smuggling compartment that comes standard with every ship of that class.
I mean, what kind of functionality do you expect from interiors? Most ships give you access to ship components, like quantum drive, shields, etc. which you will need for the engineering update. You usually also get weapon racks and shower/toilet rooms (thought tbf those don’t really server any purpose).
Are you seriously stanning for hundreds-to-thousands-of-dollar pricetag internet spaceships that have static decorations (such as that oh-so-very-secret chessboard toggle to the oh-so-secret standard issue smuggling compartment) while the grift is under pretenses of total simulation of everything but can’t even allow actual interaction to even approach the false promises?

Is it actually that financially successful? The problem with this “model of development” is that you can’t make a huge profit because you’re compelled to keep the gravy train going until it implodes
It was successful for Chris Roberts and his immediate inner circle. The game may be a money sink approaching a billion dollars but he continues to take his cut.
One of the earliest quotes from him making promises about Star Citizen was that you “would never find him on a yacht while the game is still in development.”
About that…
If I was Chris Roberts I would be bleeding the company dry at possible turn
Run all the employee salaries through your payroll processing firm, lend yourself money to buy the building to rent back to CIG, lease the IP (I think he did actually sell it), etc.
Not only is it a scam at this point, but it’s a deeply inefficient one - you don’t need to hire 500 staff to produce what looks like a couple million in content to keep the grift going
I think it’s rumoured him and his relatives take about 10 percent of revenue, which is actually pretty small for a conman from Hollywood
If it’s only 10 percent, that’s still far more money than most people could really spend in ways that actually matter for quality of life. It may not attain the leaderboards of billionaire vampires, but only billionaire vampires and their ghoul followers care about that.

Revenue is very high but I don’t think Roberts has the intelligence to skim the amount of profits you’d expect from a commercially successful game
Selling things you can’t realistically make is exactly the same idea as a pyramid scheme.
They’re so close.
Meanwhile I’m STILL not done playing Terraria
Silly paypigs, you can play Escape Velocity for free, it’s been abandonware forever.
