It wasn’t a government-funded thing, it says at the end that ABC TV did it all by themselves.

So who decided that was true?

Dentists. Because it’s true. It helps produce saliva which helps with plaque. It also exercises your jaw muscles. They emphasize crunchy vegetables and fruits which are plain healthy.

I mean, it was geared towards eating healthier food and not Corn Nuts and ice cubes. It might have been a way to trick kids into eating healthier using Fonzi and “Grease” greaser stereotypes that were popular at the time.

Isn’t it funny how we look back to 80s as nostalgia, but so much of that was recycled 50s nostalgia. Has anyone ever lived through and authentic era?

Your teeth don’t need exercise per se but your jaw bones and muscle dose and it can help your teeth grow straight, preferably from hard vegetables or meat fats but technically it would work with hard candy it just has the unintended consequences of rotting your teeth.

Funny, I always figured that chewing large amounts of chewing gum for extended periods would be a better exercise. I used to do it a lot to try to increase my weak ass jawline.

So, I didn’t watch this video because I generally don’t like watching random videos. However, I do have a little bit of knowledge on the topic due to recent news that was on (IIRC) BBC News.

It turns out that human jaws have become narrower over time correlated with their eating processed foods, which are much softer than whole foods.

Which is to say that what you eat wouldn’t necessarily strengthen your teeth, but it would strengthen your jaw.
