Department Q
Pluribus
I enjoyed Dept. Q so much! Love seeing Matthew Goode on my screen, and I really liked the ensemble cast and set design. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to enjoy a “character driven police procedural with a flawed main character” type show.
Oh! Until I saw your comment, I didn’t realize they’d done an English-language version! I enjoyed the Danish ones they did some years back.
Thank you for informing me that there are Danish films too, not just the novels! I will be watching the first one as my hangover film for Jan. 1st lol
Well, I’ve put the new version into my queue, so I’m really happy too!
Have a wonderful New Year’s!
🤝 Happy 2026 to you as well!
Finally watched Peacemaker, and it was fun. Started a rewatch on The Expanse since I’ve been reading the books. Also watching Peep Show, which is kind of hit and miss.
Rewatched The Night Manager leading to the new season coming in January. Highly recommended!

Stranger Things S5V2.
It is awesome.
Watching this week:
- Brooklyn Nine-Nine
- Silent Witness
Almost nearing the end of season 6 of BNN, it’s an okay-ish comedy about cops.
I’m only a couple episodes into Silent Witness, a 90’s detective/forensics show from Britain that seems, so far, to be pretty well done.
I’m in between jobs right now so I’ve got a long list.
First watch:
- Hot Spot
- Old Dog, New Tricks
- young Sheldon S5
Re-watch:
- Quartet
- Full Time Wife Escapist - I cannot praise this show enough. It’s perfect to watch during a slump. My first watch helped me be more attentive and appreciative of my partner. It also helped me focus on the importance of clear communication in a relationship. My second watch has changed my attitude towards house work and keeping a clean home.
Stranger Things 5 Vol. 2: I was under the impression that it was all coming out on Xmas, kind of peeved that I have to wait until NYE for the last episode. Netflix is really milking it.
The Residence (Netflix): I wanted another murder mystery after watching the new Knives out, and wow this one was a very cool one. Stylish, great premise, I really liked Cordelia Cupp (I love a quirky detective). FANTASTIC ensemble cast too. It kind of drags in episodes 4-5, but the set up is great, and episodes 6-8 really nailed the ending. Sad it won’t get another season, but the show is self contained so it’s still worth a watch for any mystery fans.
Re-watching In The Heat of The Night (the TV show) for the bazillion time, it really holds up. If you like well-written crime dramas that tackle important subjects, then this is the late 80s show for you
