OpenAI’s restructuring may serve as a test case for how society oversees the work of organizations with the potential to both provide benefits and harm humanity.

OpenAI, the maker of the most popular AI chatbot, used to say it aimed to build artificial intelligence that “safely benefits humanity, unconstrained by a need to generate financial return,” according to its 2023 mission statement. But the ChatGPT maker seems to no longer have the same emphasis on doing so “safely.”

      They did sell it to the US government, where it was used to kidnap the Venezuelan president in an act of war a couple months ago

    We all know AI doesn’t serve society, but I’m shocked that shareholders aren’t revolting based off how much cash has been incinerated for no good return

    Can’t wait for these fuckers to crash and burn. They have to be panicking by now as both Nvidia and Microslop has withdrawn their hundred billion dollar deals with them.
