Date went way better than expected. Conversation was easy. Food was good. Umbrellas broke and we had a laugh.

He thought I seemed overstimulated at a point so he took me to a quiet place and we sat and listened to music. I didn’t even have to say a word! I want to be at least half the person he is. He’s so in tune, more in tune with my body than I am! He could just tell. I guess it was the body language. I was probably avoiding eye contact then overcorrecting it, and scanning the room and laughing nervously.

I hope I can be to him how he is to me.

Thanks all for the nice comments. I love this place. You all are wonderful people and I love coming on here and getting a glimpse into your lives!! 💕🥰

Girls weekend was a great success!! My voice is hoarse from so much talking along… and 4 hours of singing at Piano Bar last night. The only tears were ones of feeling uplifted and supported (at 3:30am after a lot of alcohol).

“In the end, it was the Sunday afternoons he couldn’t cope with, and that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2:55, when you know that you’ve had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock the hands will move relentlessly on to four o’clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul.”

Ah Douglas Adams, how I miss you.

Melbcat has been eating a little and peed but still seems a bit flat and sort of groans and sighs as if in discomfort. Getting her seen.

Some cunt must be on a meth bender cos I can hear bass and it hasn’t stopped since last night. It isn’t even a clean bass, it’s reverberating and it sounds shit. My ears have had enough.

I think they’re torturing someone in there. Why else would you have the bass so high with the garage door down, playing the same shitty music over and over?

Crack is a hell of a drug lol

But in all seriousness: there’s a thing called “meth time” where 3 hours feels like 15 minutes.

And there’s that whole thing where crack heads will do stupid repetitive shit because they’re stuck in the “crack zone”.

        lol.

Almost the same as the natural deterrent of loitering kids is classical music.

I remember the maccas in camberwell did that and it worked lol.

I finally got around to hanging a couple of pictures and installing my video doorbell. It’s only taken 9 months.

One of the pictures is a print of an Australian landscape painting. It’s nice, but doesn’t really suit my house decor, so I’ve hung it in the garage.

I have a friend from high school, he has a wife, 3 kids, just bought a nice place to live. I have a shitload of respect for this guy. Probably the person I respect the most.

He was recently promoted and messaged me because he had a bit of a crisis adjusting to the new role.

I sent him a 5ish minute voice message, and spent the evening helping him get a hang of how to manage the new role.

It’s an incredible feeling when you can help someone that you really respect, despite your own failings.

you see your own failings the most because you are in your own mind and have high expectations and ideals

but others see you for what you do and say and may have a more realistic and compassionate view

so take it as the vote of confidence and acknowledgement of your skills that is , you’ve got this 👍🙂🥰

Greensborough Plaza is a shithole with nothing to draw you there, but there is a banh mi place pretending to be a regular sandwich shop and a Chinese food place pretending to be a regular takeaway. Get that bag if it works

We were there for this dinosaur event they had on and they were just letting people in. There were no signs to nit touch the animatronic dinosaur displays and they couldn’t stop people anyway because there were only two girls working there and they were flat out preparing wooden dinosaur cutouts to paint.

And by the time you were done you just had this wet painted plywood dinosaur on a stand, paint pots, and a wet paintbrush to carry around with you. The kids had fun but there was no thought beyond just getting people in the door

You realise maybe you don’t have chemistry.

You take the confidence you earned from going through with this, and use it to keep moving forward if you feel ready.

The worst that can happen is he kidnaps you and keeps you in a dungeon for years as a sex slave. Although that’s also technically a risk you face at any time, it’s not really date specific.

The worst that is likely to happen is you collect a new bad date story you’ll be able to entertain people with for years.

Almost all bad events have good story potential. Thinking about that at the time can actually be a good way of getting through it too - instead of focusing on the bad you can think about ‘how will I tell this story to everyone later’.

But hopefully it will go well, even if that is the more boring outcome 😁
