And only sometimes.

Before people start asking in the comments, the website is a niche fashion archive.

My eyes went wide with concern before reading what the site was for.

There’s a number? Mine’s been a face for too long, likely.

      It can be a face???

I need to know how many tabs I have open or else there will be 1000000. I don’t go higher than 18 tabs. That’s my absolute limit.

You’re using the wrong browser. Good browsers display an infinity symbol.

Do the improved Chromium browsers all count as bad browsers now? I use Vivaldi. I’m not certain but I think DuckDuckGo’s browser might be based on Chromium, too.

Vivaldi still displays a face. It’s probably a Chromium thing.

yeah anything based on chromium is effectively a skin, and don’t really improve things that much

best you’ll get is ones that dig into the code and try to rip out as much of the tracking as possible but eeh, just use something based on firefox, or something completely separate if you’re fine with browsing via your terminal lmao

I can’t remember the last time mine wasn’t an infinity symbol…

Is that an easter egg? EDIT: So this happens with 100+ tabs. I opened Google’s front page 90 something times and reached 100 tabs. 1st tab was still loaded in memory. 2nd EDIT: How do I have 100 tabs loaded at the same time on a mobile phone with 8 GiB RAM lol

It doesn’t actually keep them all loaded. You’ll notice it refreshes the older ones when you open the tab back up

The non-monospace font control code is set to recenter the double-digit readout starting at 9 because it’s a computer thing to start all counts at 0 instead of 1 and I know just enough about “off by one” errors to 100% assume this with no actual experience.

But, for science, does 20 center itself differently than 10 and, if so, does 19 actually match 20?

I can also imagine this happens when you get to ten, then the algorithm sees the increment over nine, modifies the offset, and then at ten you delete one tab, but the algorithm doesn’t expect you to downgrade from double digits and keeps the offset designed for double digits.

Happens to me at 10 plus, particularly if I have been switching orientation (i.e., full screen video) and goes away with a close and open. On Fennec from F-droid anyways.
