Please format it like this: [!community@instance.ml](/c/community@instance.ml), example: !technology@beehaw.org
This link is clickable on the Lemmy web interface, and will redirect you to the community within your own instance! It doesn’t work in the Jerboa app, I don’t know about other interfaces. Note that if your instance hasn’t had any users interact with the linked community yet, you’ll get a 404 error, and you’ll have to manually search !community@instance.ml to federate them.
… and be sure to post it to !wowthislemmyexists@lemmy.ca !
I created a boardgame community and if you love boardgames, consider joining!
I created a shadowrun community: !shadowrun@sh.itjust.works
EDIT: Also, someone just created a !battlemaps@sh.itjust.works. Subscribed as soon as I saw it, planning to put some of my fav Foundry VTT sci-fi maps there.
Joined.
Not sure if you play any other systems, but
pathfinder.social
is a topic-oriented instance with a bunch of pathfinder/starfinder communities that may interest you. Not much traffic yet though.Edit: In the ttrpg space there’s also:
- !RPG@lemmy.ml
- !Pathfinder2e@lemmy.ml
- !osr@lemmy.ml
- !faterpg@lemmy.ml
- Too many to list on pathfinder.social, but here’s one at least to get people started: [!pf2general@pathfinder.social[(https://lemmy.world/c/pf2general@pathfinder.social)
I saw pathfinder.social go up and subscribed to everything as soon as it did :))
I don’t play PF2e yet, planning to start my first campaign late this year
If you have any questions about getting set up, the Find the Path discord server has a TON of experienced GMs who love to talk shop. Link to it is on the top right of https://find-path.com
I created !teaching@discuss.tchncs.de - a place for teachers to discuss methods and tools for teaching. (Mostly because I’m going to miss r/ScienceEducation and r/Teachers)
Hey! I am in search of a community similar to r/Teachers. Has !teaching already been created?
I created a cybersecurity community: !cybersecurity@sh.itjust.works
Whether you’re a seasoned cybersecurity professional, a student, or someone with a passing interest, feel free to join and contribute! I’ve been posting relevant news articles and research as I find them, but I would love for there to be more social/conversational posts as well.
Great thread! Let’s get some activity in these communities!
I just started Polyamory Alberta (!polyamory_alberta@lemmy.ca)! It would be great to see this build up as a community of folks that are seeking an alternative to traditional monogamous relationships There are resources, advice, and topics for all folks to learn more about this relationship style.
Yeah I posted know this question had been asked in the past few days, but maybe a mod here could make a daily post for new communities? There’s going to be a lot of new communities created in the next few days, so it’d be neat to have a daily post to help with discovery, either here or on another of the larger communities.
We have all your pop music needs over at poptalk.scrubbles.tech!
Composers, join me in !composer@lemmy.ml!
It’d be neat to listen to your stuff!
I created an Obsidian community. Obsidian is my life now after adopting it as my Personal Knowledge Management System several months ago
You definitely got a new subscriber here! I use Obsidian for my worldbuilding and it’s neat!
It’s changed my life. Everything goes into Obsidian now.
I created !bicycles@lemmy.ca as a generalist cycling sub, hoping to recapture /r/xbiking’s spirit of inclusion and enthusiasm about bikes, but being open to a wider variety of types of cyclists; commuters, tourers, roadies, MTB, fixies, whatever!
I also made !psychedelics@lemmy.ca for learning and sharing experiences about psychedelic drugs!
Stumbled across !traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns@lemmy.ca earlier and I hope it gains traction.
I’m getting a 404 for the bicycles one :(
Try searching !newbrunswick@lemmy.ca on your instance (including the exclamation mark). You might have to click “next” on the results once or twice, but it should show up!
I’ve created !weirdcore@sopuli.xyz. It’s an internet aesthetic, combining nostalgia, surrealism, Y2K aesthetics, and confusion into a niche art style.
Based on my parents’ reactions to it, it’s an acquired taste, but it’s worth a look. Read more about it on the Aesthetics Wiki, here (via BreezeWiki).
I want my Phish community back :)
I liked to check in on r/popheads from time to time on reddit because I’m into pop music, and there’s /c/popheads@poptalk.scrubbles.tech, which doesn’t seem to have that many users so I’d like to see that grow
I miss the early internet days of sharing stories about High Strangeness and cryptid topics into the wee hours of the morning. If you wanna share your stories or theories you might start here:
I established !signs@lemmy.ml where people can post photos of signs they find interesting
I made !zillowgonewild@midwest.social yesterday. Its counterpart in the other place is a lot of fun. Come be a catty bitch with me about other peoples’ personal taste! 😋
Sorry, that might sound dumb. But how do I subscribe? I’m registered on lemmy.ml. Do I have to register on midwest as well? 😊
Edit: ok I think I got it. You can still subscribe by going to lemmy.ml and search for the community “!zillowgonewild@midwest.social“ (even if it’s in another site/instance)
No, if you search on your Lemmy instance for the community, it will pull it for you. I have had trouble searching before (sometimes) !<community>@<sever> should work, but occasionally I’ve had to use the full https link. Give it a try, hth.
